Job Title:
Operations Support Supervisor
Responsibilities:
This position supervises the Operations Support team,
which is responsible for Systems and Application Maintenance
in a 24/7/365 environment.
Team duties include monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting
systems and network hardware, software, operating systems
and applications. They provide support, directly to customers,
for a broad range of initiatives ranging from high-volume
newspaper web sites to web applications that enable newspaper
customers to conduct business online through the Internet.
The team works days, weekends, late nights and overnight
shifts. Applicants for the Supervisor position must be
willing to work a flexible schedule. The Supervisor for
this team will be required to cover these shifts on occasion.
The supervisor will develop and document procedures that
will aid in proactively preventing problems or service
disruptions to maintain operational standards.
Applicants should meet minimum requirements that include
a four-year college degree, strong inter-personal and
communications skills, supervision skills and experience,
Unix System Administration experience, knowledge of Internetworking,
and the ability to work a flexible schedule. The ideal
candidate will possess a minimum of 7 years experience
in Information technology and/or Customer Service and
Support fields and a minimum of 2 years experience in
managing a 24x7x365 production environment.
